Description
For your consideration today is a fine hand-carved shell cameo brooch which is also equipped with a hidden bail, to be worn as a pendant.  The cameo is set in a wide solid gold bezel marked “K14”.  I have shown it on a chain in the photos for size reference–CHAIN IS NOT INCLUDED.
The pretty lady in this cameo has some of the typical “cameo features”…the curls in her hair, and the flowers at her bodice, but she’s also unique, in that she is wearing a drop earring from her earlobe!
This cameo measures 1.5″ by 1.25″. It closes with an early locking pin clasp and is marked K14 and tests positive for 14k gold.  This pretty cameo brooch pendant weighs 6.2 grams, and is in excellent antique condition.
