1800s or early 1900s. This is a large brooch, most likely carved in Italy. The
gold frame was made in the United States. The cameo depicts a classical courting
scene, it looks like Robin Hood on bended knee in front of Maid Marian. The
shell is delicately carved with intricate detail. The clasp has a safety lock
for added security.
This piece has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 14 karat
